challenge

Traditional music performances and filmed sessions are largely static, relying on pre-designed visuals or linear stage concepts that cannot meaningfully respond to the performer in real time. As live music increasingly intersects with digital environments, a gap emerges between sound, body, and space. Existing formats rarely allow artists to actively shape the visual world they perform inside, limiting immersion, responsiveness, and spatial storytelling.

solution

Visionaries introduces a real-time generative XR performance system where sound, movement, and space are fully interconnected. Within the project, Artem Kharchenko and Konstantin Dovzhik were responsible for the technical concept and implementation of a generative XR system that translates audio and performer movement into live spatial transformations. Instead of relying on static or pre-rendered visuals, the environment continuously evolves during performance, allowing the system to behave as an active spatial layer rather than a fixed visual backdrop.

details

Visionaries was developed as an exploration of performance as a spatial system rather than a fixed stage.

The environment was designed as a responsive structure shaped by rhythm, movement, and intensity in real time. Instead of designing visuals first and fitting performance into them, the system grows around the performer, adapting its behavior dynamically.

A key challenge was maintaining a fully responsive system under real production conditions. The system had to:

  • react instantly to sound and motion

  • support multiple performers and tracking inputs

  • maintain visual coherence across different episodes

  • operate reliably in a live filming environment

The technical setup included:

  • multi-surface LED environment (walls and ceiling)

  • real-time rendering pipelines

  • motion tracking (body and camera)

  • generative visual systems

  • synchronized multi-layer output

Particular focus was placed on low-latency performance, system stability, and production-ready workflows, ensuring consistent operation across sessions.

The resulting system forms a modular generative framework capable of scaling across artists, formats, and environments.

We don't take every project. But when we commit, we stay with it until the system holds.

Get in touch — for stages, environments, installations, site-specific works, or anything that does not yet have a name.
